Repair advice needs a stop condition
A web page cannot inspect your bicycle. If a safety-critical system is damaged, unfamiliar or still performs poorly after a check, do not ride it.

Stop riding when
- A brake cannot stop the bicycle, leaks, contacts the tire or has a frayed or slipping cable.
- A tire bead, casing, rim, axle or wheel-retention system is damaged or uncertain.
- A chain, derailleur or other part can enter the wheel, frame or spokes.
- The frame, fork, handlebar, stem, crank, pedal or steering system is cracked, loose, bent or changed after an impact.
- You cannot identify the system, the fault or the applicable manufacturer procedure.
Use the correct record
Torque, clearance, pressure, cable routing, pad type, fluid, tire/rim compatibility and adjustment procedures vary. Use the current instructions for the actual bicycle and component. A specification shown for one model must not be copied to another.
Protective limits
Use suitable eye, hand and workshop protection; secure the bicycle; keep fingers, clothing and tools clear of moving wheels and drivetrains; and keep oils or incompatible cleaners away from braking surfaces. Batteries, pressurized suspension, hydraulic systems and unfamiliar e-bike wiring need their exact service procedure.
Final test
After work, inspect the assembly while stationary, operate each control separately, walk-test the bicycle and then use a controlled low-speed test in a safe area only if every stop condition is cleared. If anything is uncertain, use a qualified bicycle mechanic before normal riding.
