Bike Spoke Replacement & Exact-Match Check

A 700c label cannot tell you the side, head, length, profile, nipple, or tension record. Build the exact requirement first.

Real DT Swiss Champion spoke photograph by Rado “bladteth” Rzeznicki, released to the public domain via Wikimedia Commons. Displayed uncropped. It shows one J-bend spoke family with nipples; it is not the listed Competition 258 mm product, an exact wheel match, or site-owned testing.

A focused decision path for this exact job. Verify fit and safety details against the current maker instructions.

12-field exact-match Check

Start with the wheel record. End with one exact spoke.

The checker can stop a damaged wheel, reject a wheel-size guess, preserve an owned spare, or show one exact maker-and-store listing. It never calculates spoke length, teaches lacing or tension, judges durability, or clears the wheel for riding.

1. Condition, job, and wheel responsibility
2. Position, head, and length evidence
3. Profile, nipple, and use approval
4. Service, quantity, and exact option

All twelve records are required. Choose “no option” for a source-handoff record only. No name, email, serial number, medical detail, or other personal field is collected or stored.

Before buying

Inspect the whole wheel, identify the exact spoke, and check any suitable spare before buying.

Four decisions a spoke category cannot make

01

Inspect

Multiple failures, severe wobble, rim or hub damage, and chain-to-spoke damage close the one-part shopping path.

02

Identify

The current wheel, exact side, head architecture, length evidence, profile, and nipple system must all remain attached.

03

Service

Replacement still needs exact tension, truing, dish, inspection, and release responsibility; this page does not prescribe them.

04

Source

Check whether you already have the correct spare spoke. Buy a bulk pack only if you need that many.

Hard stop

One broken spoke does not prove a one-spoke job

Multiple broken spokes, severe wobble, cracked or sharply deformed rim, damaged eyelets, hub-flange damage, or chain-to-spoke damage route to whole-wheel assessment.

A loose, rusted, repeatedly broken, rubbing, or unexplained spoke can expose tension imbalance, a damaged interface, or a wider wheel problem.

Do not ride to “see if it holds.” The exact wheel procedure or a qualified wheel builder must own replacement, tension, truing, dish, inspection, and release.

This page supplies no spoke-length calculator, tension number, lacing pattern, wheelbuilding instruction, durability ranking, or road clearance.

Variant trap

The listed seller card is complete enough to compare. It is not complete enough to choose for an unidentified wheel.
